Pooja Jadhao Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, Smt Kashibai Navale Medical College and General Hospital Narhe-Pune, MUHS University, Nashik, India. 2021 11 17 2022 01 03 Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder of multiple etiology characterized by chronic hyperglycemia with disturbances in carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism, due to defect in insulin secretion, insulin action or both. Complications of Diabetes mellitus are macrovascular (coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease), microvascular (diabetic nephropathy, neuropathy and retinopathy), electrolyte and metabolic derangements. Foot ulcer is a common complication of diabetes mellitus with deranged Blood Sugar Level, which needs debridement or amputation. As central neuraxial block is contraindicated and general anaesthesia is risky in our patient due to coagulation abnormalities, anaemia, sepsis and left lung pneumonia.
